More Hooked On Phonics

Posted by Dre in Design, Illustration on May 20th, 2007

abc_cover.jpgAfter 1 book with Orange32, Hooked on Phonics sent 2 more at us. We gladly accepted, because basically we’re a bunch of 5 year olds but with drivers licenses and the ability to buy alcohol. Although we do not condone mixing those two, of course not. One of the books is a magnet book too, which is killer. Who doesn’t love magnets? I remember this one time I tried to see how many magnets I could get in…….. Ah, yeah, let’s leave that one alone.

Healthalicious Logo & Identity

Posted by Dre in Design, Illustration, Packaging/Product, Identity on March 29th, 2007

FinalLogo.jpgHealthalicious is a new healthy fast food alternative in good ol’ NYC. They came to us for an identity package with all the trimmings. So we cooked them up a great logo and an even better tagline “Better Than Delicious”. Working on a crazy sick Lemon-Lime color scheme, we nailed this one harder than A-Rod nailed that one in Toronto, you know what we mean. Here’s a few samples pieces of the work we did, check it and sweat it.

JustSweet Fashion Show Invites

Posted by Dre in Design, Illustration on March 13th, 2007

newF.jpgSweetface Fashion / J.Lo Clothing started a new line called JustSweet. Man that’s a lot of sweetness going on there. They were having a fashion show during Fashion Week in Miami Beach and needed a print and email invite. Next time Orange32 does a fashion show we’re gonna remember to do it during Fashion Week and not during Freaknik. The printed invite actually had a button attached in the black circle, we’d take a picture, but man that’s a lot of work, and we’re just plain lazy. So close your eyes and imagine what a button would look like attached to the invite and bingo, you just saved our lazy asses five minutes of work. Thanks. Click here to see more of this project.

Advanced Armament Statue Of Liberty

Posted by Dre in Design, Illustration, Packaging/Product on March 12th, 2007

statue.jpgAdvanced Armament came to use to do a custom illustration of the Statue of Liberty with an ammo belt and a hand gun with a silencer. How can you turn down work like that, especially when we know how helpful silencers can really be. You can use silencers for just about anything, cooking, cleaning, outdoor activities, sports and so much more. After we finished the illustration they liked it so much they asked us to design a box for the silencer. So we were like hell yeah, boxes are amazing things. It’s like paper stuff that can hold stuff and they are almost as useful as silencers. It’s like a tag team of useful items, silencers and boxes, what a pair. Click here to see more of this project.

Hooked On Phonics - A Present For Papa Fox

Posted by Dre in Design, Illustration on March 11th, 2007

cover_present1.jpgFon-iks, that’s right and they are hooked on Orange32. Hooked On Phonics came to us to illustrate their new book “A Present For Papa Fox” and we were like “Hell yeah, kids books. Bring it on!” Check out these totally awesome illustrations we did. The art is amazing, it’s like Picasso but for kids. Man, our skills and versatility continue to amaze us. Wait, is Narcissism a deadly sin? We better shut our pretty little narcissitic mouths.

Media Bakery Campaign

Posted by Dre in Design, Illustration on February 12th, 2007

ad.jpgThis is a Magazine and Direct Mail campaign we came up with for Media Bakery a Stock Photography/Illustration Website. They were getting bored with using the stock photography for their campaigns so we came up with a campaign where we made custom illustrations to stand out from the other stock sites. Due to some complaints the Bitch’n was changed to Bitchen, I have no idea why that makes a difference, that was not our call. Seems some women think this postcard means that Media Bakery believes all women should be barefoot, pregnant and cooking. I’m serious some lady wrote an email like that. PEOPLE IF YOU HAVE THAT MUCH FREE TIME GO TO THE LOCAL SOUP KITCHEN AND HELP OUT. People could use your help, not your opinion. Click here to see more of this project.

This is just a quick illustration we did for Bomba, a energy drink that is just being brought to the U.S. now. It’s already all over Europe and Latin America and should be all up in your face here soon, just like us at Orange32, in your face! So you can see this amazing starburst thing going on here just solidifies the artistic capabilities of the staff here at Orange32, especially when under client rule. We can do amazing things, if someone would be so kind as to tell us how. Please help Orange32, we need you! Without you we are nothing! Please, don’t go! No, wait! Shane… Shane!!!!!

Charmer Soccer Cup Logo Design

Posted by Matt in Design, Illustration, Typography, Identity on June 28th, 2006

Picture 1.jpg

Charmer is one of the USA’s main alcohol distributors and they’re a damn good client of ours, for obvious reasons. So Charmer gets their people together every year for a soccer tournament. We’d like to think the alcohol flows freely at this event on and off the field, leading to some very funny play. But we don’t know because we’ve NEVER been invited, we just computer jockeys, kind of like monkeys but we can speak. We here at Orange32 are actually damn good soccer players, we’ve been compared to the Brazil team numerous times. And on top off playing soccer we make kick ass soccer tournament logos too. Pele couldn’t design for crap, ask anybody.

Urban Rebel Logo Design

Posted by Matt in Design, Illustration, Typography, Identity on June 27th, 2006

ur1.jpg

So this guy comes by our office to discuss a logo design, he looks like Jamie Kennedy so we’ll refer to him as JK from this point on. So JK is starting a real estate company in NYC and he wants a logo that is classic but trendy, also gritty but clean. So we go over some things and figure out that he just needs to see some things because he didn’t seem to be able to stop contradicting himself. Anyway, JK makes it clear to us that he is a lawyer for some reason unknown, turns out later when our lawyers contacted him, that it is actually JK’s wife that is a lawyer. Nice! Anyway, we wanted to make him happy and turned out more than our usual 3 comps that are included in our fee. JK tells us to make it look like this logo, then to make it look like that logo. Then he wants an animal, we start out with a horse then he decides he wants a sheep, we didn’t ask why. He tells us none of his friends liked the horses and asked us what we thought of the sheep, we told him we hated it. He told us he was paying us for our opinion and we told him which ones we liked and then he told us his friends didn’t like those. So we told him to go hire his friends and leave us out of this. If you ever get a client that looks like Jamie Kennedy run away, fast.

btw- the top logo is an ambigram - for those of you that don’t know, that means it’s the same thing upside down, do a handstand on your desk and check it out!

National Jean Promotional Mailer

Posted by Matt in Design, Illustration on June 27th, 2006

nat1.jpg

We continued to use the photo shoot we did for the National Jean Company website for all the direct marketing pieces. Going with a nice trendy distressed look we made this look um… trendy. But of course it’s Orange32’s own version of trendy, not your Armani Exchangekind of trendy. Don’t mess with us, we’ll distress you in your face, and that’s not trendy at all.
